Aleta Marie Stady

Aleta Stady, 80, of Glenwood, passed away on January 18, 2017 at the Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2017 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Aleta Marie Pierce, one of nine children of Lyle and Genieva (Rist) Alley, was born on August 30, 1936 in Hastings, Iowa. She was a graduate from the Hastings School and attended Beauty College. Aleta married Bernard Levermann and were blessed with two sons, David and Robert. The couple later divorced. Aleta and Gerald Dean Stady were united in marriage on August 25, 1973 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Aleta owned and operated Aleta's Beauty Salon until her retirement.

Aleta loved quilting, cooking and working in her garden. She also enjoyed playing cards, and camping and fishing.

Aleta passed away at the Glen Have Home on January 18, 2017, at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 18 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; son David Levermann; brothers, Bill and George; and sister, Kathryn.

Aleta is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Gerald Stady of Glenwood; son, Robert (Richard Grover) Levermann of Omaha, NE; daughter-in-law, Mary Levermann of Glenwood; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, with another due in August; brothers, Lyle Pierce of Plattsmouth, NE, and Johnny (Jean) Pierce of Council Bluffs; sisters, Barbara Pakos and Ruth Schmahl, both of Pacific Junction, IA, and Joyce (Leonard) Wright of Council Bluffs; other relatives; and many friends.
