Beatrice Anderson

Beatrice Imogene Anderson, daughter of LuLu Maude (Bailey) Littrell Moss and Thomas Howard Moss, was born September 3, 1925 in Boone, Iowa. She grew up in Boone and attended school, graduating from Boone High School in 1943. She was a member of the Boone Methodist Church. Following school, Bea worked at the ammunition plant in Boone.

Bea and Thomas LeRoy Anderson, also of Boone, were united in marriage on August 23, 1946, in Troy, Kansas. They made their first home in Boone and were blessed with three of their five children, Dennis LeRoy, Kathina Kay, and Camilla Rae. Bea enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. The family later moved near Oakland, California, where Tom worked as a glass blower, and their fourth child, Janice Elaine, was born. The family later returned to Boone and Bea and Tom were blessed with their fifth child, Thomas John. The family also lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Denver, Colorado, and in the fall of 1973, moved to Malvern, Iowa, where they eventually built their home. Bea worked for ten years in Red Oak, Iowa at Hardee's, which later became Burger King.

Bea enjoyed bowling, bingo, and dancing with Tom. She loved when Tom would play his guitar and listen to her daughter Janice sing. She always enjoyed babysitting with the grandchildren and eventually played cards with them when they were older.

Bea and Tom had been married 58 years when Tom passed away on March 7, 2005. Following Tom's death, Bea continued to make her home in Malvern. Bea died at her home on January 12, 2010 at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 9 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lulu Moss; husband Thomas L. Anderson; son Thomas J. Anderson; grandson Lylle Lee Clopine; brothers, Harry Littrell and Harold Littrell; and sisters, Lucille Berglund, Virginia Clough, and Thea Ora Pierce.

Bea is survived by her children, Dennis Anderson and wife Galina of Keller, TX, Kathy Hansen of Malvern, IA, Camilla Shaeffer and husband Larry of Denver, CO; Janice Frerichs and husband Don of Malvern; daughter-in-law Trudy Anderson of Cumberland, IA; sister Geraldine Johnson of Boone, IA; 17 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

A memorial fund has been established.

Interment in the Malvern Cemetery.
