She was a busy homemaker and mother. Berdine enjoyed her flowers, gardening, embroidering, collect pencil sharpeners, and had over a thousand. She babysat for neighbors and friends for several years. Berdine and Warren belonged to a neighborhood card club. One of Berdine's favorite past time was feeding the squirrels and one became so tame, she could walk up to it and it wouldn't run. Berdine and Warren enjoyed many vacations together. One of her favorite visits was to Niagara Falls and visiting New York and Washington, D.C. They also enjoyed many trips in their motor home. Berdine took care of her parents in her home as they recovered from knee replacements and a broken hip. She later spent a great deal of time with them at the nursing home in Avoca. They attended many Omaha events and spent many Sundays at their favorite restaurant, Hong Hing, where they enjoyed eating Chinese food. On their 65th anniversary, they renewed their wedding vows, celebrating with family, old Carson friends and new friends at the Ville. They reached a milestone anniversary when they celebrated their 71th wedding anniversary at the Ville in October 2012 and Warren passed away on March 3, 2013.
