Betty Seher

Graveside services for Betty Seher, 87 of Fairbury, NE will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Malvern Cemetery in Malvern, IA. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Betty and her family.

Betty Jane Seher was born on November 28, 1937 in Silver City, Iowa to Howard Glen and Erma Alberta Shirley (Clatterback) McKern. Betty joined her brothers, Howard and Jack. Her sister Carol and brother Richard were born later.

Betty graduated from Randolph High School. She was Valedictorian of her class. Betty moved to Omaha, following graduation. Betty met her husband William Seher when he was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base.

Betty and her husband Bill had one son William Kenneth Seher and wife Tammy, and two grandchildren, Amanda. Seher (Brenda Seher) and Kenneth W. Alby.

Betty was a corporate secretary for Sunderland Brothers Company in Omaha for 26 years. Betty retired at age 73. Betty’s boss John Sunderland wrote in Betty’s retirement letter “Betty has been the stead rock on which people have turned to for advice. Betty has been a fierce advocate of both the company and its employees modeling their ideals of fairness to all parties while remaining amazingly loyal and trustworthy to the company regardless of the circumstances.”

Betty loved her family and her family always came first. Betty loved Christmas, her flower garden, playing the slots, and all the good times spent with her family.

These are Betty’s final words “I hope each remaining member of my family know how much I loved each and every one of them.”

Betty was preceeded in death by her husband, parents, and 2 brothers. Betty died at home peacefully with her Son, Daughter in Law and Granddaughter by her side, Saturday, October 25, 2025.
