Carol Tackett

Carol Tackett, 68, of Glenwood, IA passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, at her home in Glenwood. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church with Rev. Dan Siepker officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation for friends to greet the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Carol and her family.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials are directed to the family.

Carol Ilene Hill is one of five children of Emil and Violet (Moyer) Hill was born on December 27, 1956, in Nebraska City, NE. She received her education from Fremont-Mills schools graduating with the Class of 1975. She worked at the Glenwood Resource Center as a Resident Treatment Worker for many years, retiring in 2017.

On November 17, 1996, she married Donald Lee Tackett at the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Glenwood.

Carol enjoyed painting, sewing, spending time in her garden, watching and feeding the various types of birds at her house, most of all she loved being around her family, especially her grandkids.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents.

Carol is survived by her husband Don Tackett of Glenwood; children William Gaylord and his wife Amber of Glenwood, Jamie Hensley and her husband Tom of Tabor, Angela Manley and her husband Corey of Pacific Junction, Cassandra DeJesus and her husband Jeff of Waterbury, CT; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings Mary Howery and her husband Jon of Thurman, Ted Hill and his wife Carol of Tabor, Sue Paczkowski and her husband Steve of Hastings, NE, Lee Hill and his wife Linnea of Beaver Lake, NE; other relatives and a host of many special friends.
