Carolyn Sue (Thompson) Strong, 73 of Macedonia, IA, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at CHI Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA.

Carolyn was born on June 21, 1948 in Maryville, Missouri to Mella Marie (Neff) Strong. She lived in Maryville until her teenage years, when her family moved to Macedonia, Iowa.

Carolyn was united in marriage to Ronald Strong on August 10, 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska. Their marriage was blessed with three daughters, Meladee, Rhonda, and Tracy.

Carolyn kept busy as a wife and mother. Later on she operated an in-home daycare for many years in Macedonia. Later in life Carolyn worked at the Target store in Council Bluffs for several years and then retired.

Carolyn enjoyed crocheting, sewing and quilting. She made baby quilts for her grandchildren. Out of all the colors imaginable, her most favorite color was pink. Her grandkids lovingly called her "Grandbo". Carolyn was a loving wife and mother, a proud grandma and great grandma. She loved spending time with her family. Carolyn will be especially remembered for her cheeseballs, a family favorite.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother, Mella Marie; grandson Brandon Strong; and other relatives.

Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Ronald Strong of Macedonia; daughters, Meladee (Daniel) Williams of McClelland, IA, Rhonda (Clint) Rollins of Macedonia, and Tracy (Jon) Surber of Minden, IA; six grandchildren, Ronald, Danielle, Megan, Kyle, Katelyn, and Caleb; nine great grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.
