Catherine Ann Truhlicka

Catherine Truhlicka, 64 of Sidney, IA, passed away February 12, 2019 at the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center in Red Oak, IA. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood, IA. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Catherine Ann Truhlicka, daughter of Charles David and Armedia Elvina (Bartles) McClure, was born on November 13, 1954 in Pacific Junction, Iowa. She grew up in Pacific Junction, completed her education, and attended college. Catherine had been employed as a nursing home CMA (Certified Medication Aide).

Catherine married Jack LeLand Truhlicka on August 2, 1990 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska and made their home in the Pacific Junction and Glenwood, Iowa areas until later moving near Sidney, Iowa.

Catherine enjoyed needle craft, embroidering and quilting. She loved to read and go shopping.

In November 2016, due to declining health, Catherine entered the Red Oak Rehab and Care Center in Red Oak, Iowa. She passed away there on February 12, 2019 at the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 29 days. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Denzel "Denny" McClure, Charles McClure, Joy "Twerp" McClure, and Marvin McClure; and sister Wyona McClure.

Catherine is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jack Truhlicka, of Sidney; sons, Brian Truhlicka of Lincoln, NE, and Tim Truhlicka of Sidney; grandchildren, Carter Truhlicka and Lexa Brown; sister Ylanda "Sue" McClure of Red Oak; sister-in-law Artis McClure of Calfornia; Becky Holmes, who grew up with the McClure family; extended family and relatives; and a host of friends.
