Charles Mcclure

–

Glenwood, Iowa

Charles Fredrick McClure, one of seven children of Armedia Elvina (Bartles) McClure and Charles David McClure, was born at his parent's home in Pacific Junction, Iowa on August 31, 1937. Charles attended the Pacific Junction Schools and then began work as a hired farm hand for Lawrence Lincoln. Charles was a hard worker and enjoyed the farm and all of his duties including caring for the animals, putting up hay, and running the combine in the fall. He retired from farming not long after L. Lincoln quit farming.
Charles enjoyed woodworking and bead work and made many windmills from beads. A great enjoyment was his great niece, Lexa Brown. Charles was also an active member of the community where he served on the Pacific Junction Volunteer Fire Department. As Charles's health failed, he moved from his Pacific Junction home to the Manor of Malvern Care Center. Charles died at the Manor on March 3, 2006 at the age of 68 years, 6 months, and 2 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Wyona McClure and brother Joy McClure.
Charles is survived by his brothers Denzel McClure and his wife Artis of Palmdale, CA, and Marvin McClure of Pacific Junction; his sisters Sue McClure of Pacific Junction and Catherine Truhlicka and her husband Jack of Glenwood, IA; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
