Cheri Greene

Cheri Greene, 75 of Glenwood, IA, formerly of Malvern, IA, passed away June 14, 2019 at the Glen Haven Home in Glenwood. Per her wishes, cremation will take place. Private family graveside service will be on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Malvern Cemetery. Time of gathering for family and friends will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 at the First Baptist Church basement in Malvern. Loess Hills Funeral Home of Malvern in charge of arrangements.

Cheri Lea (Kates) Greene, one of two daughters of Harold and Mary (Richard) Kates, was born on July 20, 1943 in Pacific Junction, Iowa. She graduated from the Glenwood High School in 1960. Cheri worked at Unitog in Glenwood for many years.

Cheri and Franklin D. Greene were united in marriage on July 2, 1961 at the United Methodist Church in Glenwood. They made their home in Malvern, Iowa and their marriage was blessed with four children, Jeff, Dennis, Mary, and Gregg.

Cheri was a busy homemaker, wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, collecting anything with owls, spoiling her pets, and loved spending time with her family and grandkids, who were her pride and joy.

Cheri moved to Glen Haven Home in Glenwood in 2011. She and Frank were married 51 years when Frank passed away at the Tabor Manor on October 10, 2012.

Cheri passed away on June 14, 2019 at the Glen Haven Home in Glenwood, attaining the age of 75 years, 10 months, and 24 days. In addition to her husband Frank, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Mary Greene; granddaughter Jennifer Greene; and brother-in-law Charles Prindle.

Cheri is survived by her sons, Jeff (Jo) Greene, Dennis (Peggy), and Gregg Greene, all of Malvern; 6 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister Karen Prindle of Glenwood; other relatives and many special friends.
