David Ward, 80, of Glenwood, IA passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 CHI Health Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood with Pastor Ron Rosenkaimer officiating. Private burial with military honors will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Council Bluffs, IA. Visitation for family to greet friends will be held prior to the funeral starting at 12:00 p.m. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for David and his family.

David LeRoy Ward, 80 of Glenwood, IA, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026 at CHI Health Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, NE.
David was born on August 8, 1945 in Council Bluffs, IA, the son of Lloyd and Jennie (Burgess) Ward. His mother passed away when he was 3 years old and he was raised by Priscilla and Ike Garber. David graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1963. He served in the United States Air Force. David worked as a machinist at Vickers and later worked as a school custodian.
David and Arlene Wilma Steenbock were united in marriage on June 30, 1973 at Faith Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs. They were blessed with a daughter Jennie.
David was a man of faith and active with his church and church family for 52 years. He loved classic cars, fishing, mowing the lawn, and visiting with friends and neighbors.
David was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Arnold and Sybil Steenbock.
David is survived by his beloved wife Arlene Ward of Glenwood; daughter Jennie (Joel) Mason and their children, Chloe and Taran of Omaha; special grand dog Duke; and other relatives and a host of friends.
