Doneta Ridout

Doneta Jean Ridout, age 63 of Pacific Junction, Iowa, passed away February 20, 2012 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Doneta was born on November 22, 1948 in Eldora, Iowa, to Elizabeth June "Betty" (Garrett) and Harold Bruce Ridout. She grew up in the Hubbard and Red Oak, Iowa areas and graduated from Red Oak High School in 1967.

Doneta lived in Greeley, Colorado for 25 years before moving to Pacific Junction. She was active in her church and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Doneta loved to do word puzzles and often pitted herself against the computer.

Due to declining health, Doneta moved to the Midlands Living Center in Council Bluffs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Harold Ridout; and sister-in-law Virginia "Ginger" Ridout.

Doneta is survived by her brother Bruce Ridout and wife Theresa of Omaha, NE; sisters, Juanita Ridout of Omaha, Joyce Ridout of Council Bluffs, and Janice Ridout of Omaha; five nieces and nephews, Trudy Parrish and husband Gregg, Barry Ridout and wife Tracy, Wade Ridout, Bryan Richardson and fiancA(c) Jamie, and Monica Ridout and fiancA(c) Derrale Shaw; five great nieces and nephews; aunts, Shirley Garrett of Comanche, IA, and Shirley Ridout of Eldora; and her very special friend Lola Orr of Malvern, IA.

As per Doneta's wishes, there will be no scheduled visitation or services. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Hertz Funeral Home of Glenwood in charge of arrangements.
