Donna Ann Tews-Martin

Donna Ann Tews-Martin, the daughter of Don and Dorothy Ann (Harvey) Tews, was born in Sioux City, Iowa on January 28, 1957. Donna grew up in Storm Lake, Iowa where she graduated from high school in 1975. Following school, Donna began working at the Faith, Hope, & Charity Center in Storm Lake where she was a supervisor, helping the mentally and physically challenged residents.
In 1987, Donna and Anthony Martin were married in Shaller, Iowa. They made their home in Glenwood, Iowa where Donna accepted a position at the Glenwood State Hospital School. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Alax and Zack. Donna enjoyed her work as a Resident Treatment Worker and later as Supervisor in Area IV. Donna made many friends through her loving and caring personality and no one was ever unhappy when she was around. Her boys were her life and she loved spending time with them, playing games, and learning about their day. She enjoyed sharing those special times with her mother Dorothy, who became an even more important part of her life as Donna began to experience health problems. Donna also relied on the kindness and love of her many friends to support and care for the boys when she began experiencing health problems. Donna worked at the Glenwood Resource Center for 16 years before her health forced her to retire in 2001.
Donna died at the Tabor Manor Care Center in Tabor, Iowa on January 8, 2008 at the age of 50 years, 11 months, and 10 days. She was preceded in death by her father Don Tews and stepfather Cleo Hayes. Donna is survived by her sons Alax Martin and Zack Martin, and mother Dorothy Hayes, all of Glenwood; brothers Ron Tews and his wife Monica of Davenport, IA, Tracy Hayes and Brian Tews of Austin, TX.
