Douglas Nailor, 75 of Carson, IA, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at the UNMC in Omaha, NE.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Carson United Methodist Church in Carson followed by military honors.
Visitation at the church will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson is caring for Doug and his family.

OBITUARY
Douglas Donald Nailor, 75 of Carson, IA, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 at the UNMC in Omaha, NE.

Doug was born on March 7, 1949 in Battle Creek, IA, the son of Donald Douglas and Marilyn May (Christiansen) Nailor. He graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1967. After graduation, Doug entered the Navy where he served on USS Coral Sea from 1967 to 1971. While in the Navy, Doug and Laurel Dausel were united in marriage on July 11, 1970 at the Midway Church in Woodbury County, IA and spent 54 years together. After he completed his service in the Navy, he returned to Battle Creek to work at Nailor Fertilizer. Doug then attended Minnesota West Community and Technical School and graduated in 1974. He and his family moved to Carson, IA to work for Frontier Communications. He served the Carson, Treynor, and Oakland area as a telephone technician for 36 years. Doug was an active member of the community playing softball for Jr.'s Bar, serving in Jay Cee's, Carson Fire Department, and the American Legion.
Doug enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, and golfing. He loved playing cards, especially Euchre and Cribbage, working jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, dancing, and was always quick with a joke and a smile. Doug loved spending time with his family, who were his pride and joy. He especially loved family vacations (South Dakota, Colorado, San Diego, Canada, and various fishing trips) where everyone was together.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents; son Derek Nailor; grandson Kyle Leizer; and sister Diane Miller.

Doug is survived by his wife Laurel Nailor of Carson; daughter Amy Downey and husband Dusty of Lee's Summit, MO; daughter in-law Arran Nailor of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Lauren Crain (William), Devin Nailor, Mackenzie Nailor, Conlan Downey, and Lauren Downey; sister Julie Walls of Battle Creek, IA; several nieces and nephews and other relatives; and many special friends.
