Dwayne Frederic Reinert, one of seven children of Randel and Helen (Niemoller) Reinert, was born on December 8, 1937 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Dwayne graduated with the Class of 1956 from Glenwood High School and was also named Homecoming King in 1955.
Dwayne married Waunita June Bolte on May 1, 1960 at the Silver City United Methodist Church. The couple made their home on the farm in rural Glenwood. They were blessed with four children, Tim, Ty, Trent, and Trisha.
Dwayne began his farming career in 1960. For over 50 years he owned and operated a successful purebred Hampshire and Chester White S.P. F. hog farm and was named Mills County Master Pork Producer in 1985. He was very passionate about his farming operation, from raising hogs and cattle, to the final harvest on the farm.
When he wasn't busy on the farm, he was an avid sports fan, enjoyed gardening and was a Mills County 4-H leader. However, his biggest pride and joy was his family, watching his four children grow up and then raising children of their own, blessing him and Waunita with nine beautiful grandchildren.
Dwayne passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2015 at his rural Glenwood farm. He was preceded in death by both his parents; sister, Roberta Dashner, brother-in-laws, Merlynn Bintz and Dan Hiley; and father and mother in-law, Harvey and Edna Bolte.
Dwayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Waunita Reinert of Glenwood, Iowa; children, Tim Reinert, his wife Lisa, and their children, Adam, Andrew, and Alex of Glenwood, Ty Reinert, his wife Susan, and daughter Haley of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Trent Reinert, his wife Dawn, and their sons, Michael, Jonathan, and Nicholas of Omaha, Nebraska, and Trisha Reinert and her children, Evan and Elyse of Omaha; brothers, Eldred Reinert of Council Bluffs, and Gordon Reinert and his wife Karen of Glenwood; sisters, Carolyn Bintz of Minden, and Joan Reinert and Janice Hiley, both of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews; other relatives and a host of special friends.
