Elizabeth "Bitsy" (Darrah) Bingham, 87 of Brownville, NE, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Private family burial will be held in the spring of 2024. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern is caring for Elizabeth and her family. Memorials: Directed to the family OBITUARY Elizabeth "Bitsy" (Darrah) Bingham, 87 of Brownville, NE, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Bitsy, fondly known as Liz, was born on October 21, 1936 in Tabor, IA, one of six children of Warren Hilland and Ruth Esther (Gonzales) Darrah. In 1952, her family moved to Malvern, IA where she graduated from high school in 1954. Liz and Edward Dean Bingham were united in marriage on February 25, 1956 at the Methodist Church in Malvern and lived in the area until 1961 when they moved to Colo, IA, then later to Nevada, IA. They were blessed with sons, Warren and twins Ron and Rod, and daughter Amy. In 1980, Liz and Dean became self-employed dealers, featuring woodworking and crafts. Dean was an accomplished woodworker and Bitsy was an artistic and very talented painter. Together they traveled extensively for many years participating in country folk art shows in 23 states. In 1991, they moved to historic Brownville, NE, where they opened the Snoop Shop, operating it until their retirement. Liz and Dean were married 47 years when Dean passed away on November 18, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Ruth Darrah; son Ron Bingham; brother Ronald "Terry" Darrah; and sister Nancy Handley. Liz is survived by sons, Warren (Gale) Bingham of Malvern, and Rod Bingham of Brownville; daughter Amy Bingham of Maple Grove, MN; sisters, Merrilee (Dan) Hartzer of Cambridge, IA, and Susan (Butch) Pontow of Lawrence, KS; brother Warren "Frank" (Cary) Darrah of Cedar Falls, IA; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and many special friends. She will be truly missed by everyone whoknew and loved her.
