Elzie Pittman 72 of Glenwood, IA, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at Glen Haven Village in Glenwood.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Burial will be in the Hastings Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Elzie and his family.

Elzie Lee Pittman, 72 of Glenwood, IA, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 at the Glen Haven Village in Glenwood.
Elzie was born on July 4, 1952 in Eupora, MS, the son of Lazarus and Ola Mae (Marshall) Pittman. His grandma (mama) Lennon Pittman raised him since he and his father lived with her. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, IA in 1971. Elzie worked as a residential treatment worker at the Glenwood Resource Center.
Elzie and Sheryl Kay Cunningham were united in marriage on April 19, 2003 in Glenwood.
Elzie enjoyed a cold beer, playing pool, and going fishing. He loved to cook and made amazing mac & cheese, oreo stuff, brisket, black eyed peas and loved eating catfish. Most of all, Elzie loved to spend time with his family, and vacationing in Mississippi.
Elzie was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved grandma (mama) Lennon Pittman.
Elzie is survived by his wonderful wife Sheryl of Glenwood; children, Marsha Pittman, Shawntel Maxwell, Sandra Pittman Johnson, all of Omaha, NE, Janice Pittman of Jackson, TN, and Gabby Bonnier of Omaha, along with Melissa Hurst of Omaha, Jonathon Jack of Council Bluffs, and Andrew Jack of Atlantic, IA; many grandchildren; sister Vanessa Watson (Curtis) of Eupora, MS; step mother Stella Mae Pittman of Eupora, MS; Uncles LJ and JC; several cousins; and a host of special friends.
