Eva Gay King

Eva Gay King, one of six children of Hattie Florence (Bisbee) and John William Frain, was born on October 1, 1927 in Grove Township near Carson, Iowa. She grew up in the Carson and Macedonia area and graduated from the Macedonia High School in 1947.
Eva and Eldon Duane King of Carson were married on November 1, 1947 in Minnesota. They made their home in Oakland, Iowa the first year and then moved to Carson where Eldon farmed. Their marriage was blessed with five children, Robert, Roger, Nancy, Randall, and Shirley. In 1952, Eldon accepted a position with the Union Pacific Railroad and the family moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa. Eva was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her family and their home. In 1968, she began working at the Frito Lay Company, first on the production line as a packager and then later as the company's quality control manager.
Eva and Eldon had been married 33 years when Eldon died on April 15, 1981. Eva continued to live at her Council Bluffs home and work at Frito Lay until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the 5th Avenue United Methodist Church of Council Bluffs, and enjoyed the Church League during her younger years. Eva moved to the Longview Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa in May of 2003. Eva died at the Longview Home on September 15, 2004 at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eldon King; brothers Albert Frain, Lawrence Frain, and Hollis Frain; and sister Neva Kuhr; grandchildren Jeanie King, Joanie King, and C'Sean Witt. Eva is survived by her sons Robert King and his wife Chris, Roger King, and Randall King all of Council Bluffs, IA; daughters Nancy Witt and her husband Mike of Council Bluffs and Shirley Hester and her husband Gordon of Omaha, NE; sister Norma Frain; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
