OBITUARY
Joe Miller hit his final drive on April 11, 2025, leaving this world with the same grace and grit he brought to every day of his 19 incredible years.
Though his time here was short, Joe packed more life, laughter, and lessons into those years than many do in a lifetime. He was a natural teacher—not in a classroom, but in how he lived: with courage, humor, and a heart wide open.
Born to Daniel Raymond Miller and Holly Kae (Sell) Miller, Joe was the kind of son who made his parents proud every single day. Dan and Holly stood by his side through every challenge, learning just how deep love and resilience can go. Together, they discovered that legacy isn’t measured in years, but in the lives you touch—and Joe touched many.
Joe’s siblings—Brady, Nick, and Claire—formed the ultimate support squad. Brady and Nick kept the mood light with their antics and humor, while Claire brought tenderness and sparkle, always knowing when to drop in a dose of comfort. The three of them surrounded Joe with love, strength, and the kind of laughs only siblings can deliver.
He was blessed with four grandparents—Mike and Mary Ann Sell, and Herb and Janelle Miller—who admired the way Joe lifted others up, even as he fought his own battle. Joe reassured them with his quiet confidence in what came next, reminding them he knew where he was headed and wasn’t afraid—because God was walking with him.
Joe didn’t wait to grow up to get to work. His Uncle Ryan (and Aunt DeShawne) put him behind the controls of heavy machinery at a young age, and he took it seriously—especially the lunch breaks. Joe enjoyed golf and was the first to offer tips to his Uncle Travis. He loved watching the various animals being born from afar at Aunt Johna’s farm. Although Joe's high school was altered he treasured his time at Lewis Central as this was his home away from home growing up. He also packed in many amazing times and wonderful friendships during his short time at NWMS. He enjoyed visiting KC for bbq and concerts with his Aunt Jennifer as he loved all types of music.
Joe was fortunate enough to travel many places over the last 3 years provided by many huge hearts to watch Michigan football and golf all over the United States. He was proud of his opportunities to speak for the Sunshine Kids and Angels Among Us organizations. He provided many with faith, hope and laughter.
More than anything, Joe loved his people. Family, friends, cousins—they were everything to him. He kept them close, made them laugh, and roasted them mercilessly in group chats and Snapchats with his signature wit. His zingers were legendary, and his timing was flawless.
Joe wouldn’t want anyone sitting around in sorrow. He would want stories told, laughter shared, and lives lived fully. He believed Heaven was nothing to be sad about—because to him, it wasn’t the end. It was the best kind of beginning.
