Juan Lenosga

Juan Raphael Lanosga, son of Marie Goodman and Juan Lanosga, Sr., was born in Vallejo, CA on August 7, 1922. Juan grew up in Napa and graduated from high school there. Following school he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as the radioman on a PBY aircraft in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Juan and Lorraine Mary Barnick of Edgeley, North Dakota were married on April 22, 1946 at Bremerton, Washington. They made their home in Seattle, Washington where Juan began pre-dentistry studies at Seattle University. Following graduation Juan and Lorraine moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Juan attended the Creighton University Dental School. Juan graduated from Creighton in 1954 and he and Lorraine moved to Portland, Oregon where Juan began his dental career. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters Christine and Felicia. Juan retired from his practice in 1991 after 37 years in general dentistry. In 1996 Juan and Lorraine moved to Glenwood, Iowa to live with their daughter Christine and they attended the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Glenwood. Juan and Lorraine had been marred 57 years when Juan died at his daughter's home on January 24, 2004, having attained the age of 81 years, 5 months, and 17 days. Juan was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Lorraine of Glenwood; daughters Christine Vanderpool of Glenwood, and Felicia Garland of New Jersey; three grandchildren, one great grandson; other relatives and friends. Juan's remains were cremated and private services will be held at a later date in Edgeley, ND. Hertz Funeral Home of Glenwood was in charge of arrangements.
