Karen Roberson, 86, of Macedonia,IA passed away on Thursday July 3, 2025 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson with Pastor Brad Schroeder officiating. Visitation for friends to greet the family will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Macedonia Cemetery in Macedonia, IA. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson is caring for Karen and her family.

OBITUARY
Karen Marie Roberson, 86 of Macedonia, IA, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025 at her home.
Karen was born on March 29, 1939 in Mills County, IA, the daughter of Lee and Marie (Green) Schoening. She graduated from high school in Oakland, IA, with the class of 1957. Karen was employed at the Eveready Battery Company in Red Oak, IA from 1973 until 1994.
Karen and Bernard John Roberson were united in marriage on May 30, 1958 in Malvern, IA. They established their home in Council Bluffs, Iowa and their marriage was blessed with children, Lorre Sue, Monte Lee, and Julie Ann. The family moved to Winterset, IA, eventually returning to Council Bluffs, before moving to live in Macedonia in 1968.
Karen was a busy mother and wife. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan, enjoyed quilting and crocheting, horseback riding and loved spending time with her friends and especially her family.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Bernie of 50 years in 2008; son Monte Roberson in 2007; grandson-in-law Cory Achenbaugh; and brother Kenneth Schoening.
Karen is survived by her children, Lorre Roberson (Dale Kardell) of Avoca, IA, and Julie Kates (Lonnie) of Carson, IA; daughter-in-law JoHelen Roberson of Macedonia; special friend Rod Knoke of Carson; 8 grandchildren, Tara Achenbaugh, Amy Schoepke (Justin), Desirae Jones (Bobby), Jacob Roberson, Nathan Roberson (Alexa), Seth Kates (Melanie), Kade Kates (Melody), and Gabrielle McCowen (Garret); 17 great grandchildren (with another on the way), 2 great great grandchildren; other relatives and many special friends.
