OBITUARY by family
Kevin Donald Deitchler, the youngest son of Merrilee and the late Lloyd Deitchler, was born on May 10, 1986, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He grew up on the family farm north of Mineola, where he developed a deep love for his kittens and dogs—and a knack for being a mischievous little brother to his older siblings! Kevin was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 8 and graduated from Glenwood High School in 2004.
Throughout his life, Kevin worked in various roles in the construction field, but most recently, he was a Receiving Manager at Family Fare Grocery Store in Glenwood, a job he truly enjoyed. Kevin's greatest passion was his family. He leaves behind his son, Brayden (Jennifer Forsythe), and his three beloved "ladybugs" - Marle, Piper, and Mattie. Being a father was the most important part of his life, and his children were his world. He also cherished his animals, including several cats and his newest addition, a little Pomeranian named Stuart.
A lifelong gamer, Kevin was known for sneaking into his brother Corey’s room to play video games- much to his mother’s dismay. He was also a talented cook, taking great joy in preparing dishes and sharing them with others. Additionally, Kevin enjoyed playing poker with his many friends. He will be remembered for his enormous heart, his sensitivity and kindness toward others, and his quirky sense of humor. Kevin had an unmistakable laugh. While he wasn’t one to be the life of the party, he certainly made every moment at home with his family count. He was the guy who made you smile just by being around.
Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents; father Lloyd; Uncle Kevin; Aunt Lucille; and Cousin Aaron.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah; son Brayden; daughters, Marle, Piper, and Mattie Rin; his mother, Merrilee; brothers, Clay (Angie), Corey (Julie), and Kyle (Sami); nieces, Samantha, Mackenzie, Emersyn, Ellis, and Nora; nephews, Mason and Thane; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loving friends.
