Larry Borcherding

Larry Dean Borcherding, 65, of Glenwood, Iowa, passed away on April 14, 2026.
He was born on June 13, 1960, in Creston, Iowa, to Cecil Vernon and Zona (Sharp) Borcherding. He graduated from Creston High School and, following graduation, attended automotive school. Larry dedicated 50 years to his career as an automotive technician, retiring from Edwards Automotive Group, where he earned numerous accolades for his skill and dedication.
On February 14, 1981, he married Monica in Creston, Iowa. Together, they were blessed with three sons: Ryan, Travis, and Aaron.
Larry was especially known for his barbecue talents, earning multiple awards over the years. He loved camping and spending time attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Above all, he had a deep passion for caring for his family and close friends and will be remembered for his generosity and love.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Al Cudley.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Monica of Glenwood; his sons, Ryan, Travis, and Aaron; seven grandchildren; his sisters, Karen Sue Cudley and Connie Loomis (husband Terry); his brother, Gary Borcherding (wife Mary Jo); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In lieu of a funeral, memorial service, or celebration of life, Larry requested that everyone spend time camping in his honor.
