Louise (Mrs. Marlin) Briley

Louise Briley was born to Edith (Homan) and Samuel Ripley Hall, on August 25, 1930 in Sidney, Iowa. She was one of nine children, including four brothers and four sisters. Louise grew up in Fremont County near the areas of Sidney and Shenandoah. She attended school in Randolph, Iowa through the 9th grade.

Louise and Marlin Dale Briley were married on June 12, 1948 in Glenwood, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Larry, Linda, and Dennis.

Louise owned and operated "Louise's Beauty Shop" in Omaha, Nebraska for many years. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and cooking, and she also enjoyed going camping at Viking Lake near Red Oak, Iowa.

Louise passed away on December 20, 2011 at Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She attained the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 25 days and was preceded in death by her parents; son Dennis (1952); and by four brothers and three sisters.

Louise is survived by her husband of 63 years, Marlin Briley of Council Bluffs; daughter Linda Cox-Spitznagle and husband Robert of Council Bluffs; son Larry Briley and wife Shelly of Pocatello, ID; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister Mary Elliott of Clarinda, IA; other relatives; and many friends.

A memorial fund has been established.
