Madonna Jeanne Skerritt

Madonna Beck-Skerritt, 81, of Glenwood, IA, passed away March 31, 2015 at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood with Reverend Mike Stevens officiating. Burial will be in the Garner Township Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015 at the funeral home in Glenwood.

Madonna Jeanne Beck-Skerritt, one of seven children of Burton Matthias and Marguerite Minnie Louise (McClary) Hartman, was born on June 16, 1933 in Maskell, Nebraska where she grew up and graduated from New Castle High School.

Madonna and Jerome Clair Beck were married on December 27, 1953. Their marriage was blessed with six children, Romie, Roxanne, Randy, Renee, Rhonda, and Rachelle. Jerome passed away in November 1992.

In 2000, Madonna moved to live in Glenwood, Iowa. Madonna and Harold Leon Skerritt were married on June 10, 2001. Madonna's family grew to include Harold's two adult children, John and Ann.

Madonna passed away on March 31, 2015 at the Creighton Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 15 days. In addition to her first husband, Madonna was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson Shawn David Boverhuis and grand-nephew Jason Ohrazda; sister Shirley Hamer and husband Ken; and brother-in-law Carl Christensen.

Madonna is survived by her husband Harold Skerritt of Glenwood; children, Romie (Sharon) Beck of Flagstaff, AZ, Roxanne (Ron) Boverhuis of Glenwood, Randy Beck of Malvern, IA, Renee (Ken) May of St. Joseph, MO, Rhonda (Ray) Bloom of Honey Creek, IA, Rachelle (Wesley) Gronemyer II of Glenwood, IA, and Vicki (Carlos) Baisden of Sioux City, IA; stepchildren, John (Pamela Hawhee) Skerritt of Ames, IA, and Ann (Gene) Schoening of Silver City, IA; grandchildren, Russell, Rachel, Lisa, Ron, Ryan, Derek, Brittany, Jillian, Kevin, Kelsie, Kim, Robbie, Donnie, Kerri, Jeff, Jacob, Nick; many great grandchildren; siblings, Galen (Joan) Hartman of Laurel, NE, Derwin (Alice) Hartman of Elk Horn, NE, Mildred Christensen of Norfolk, NE, Fay Hartman of Wayne, NE, Sharon (Russ) Breitkreutz of Wisner, NE; many loved nieces, nephews and other relatives.
