Mary E. Lincoln Connell

Mary E. Lincoln Connell was born January 13, 1913, in Omaha, Nebraska to Lida Reafling. Mary attended Walnut Grove School and graduated in 1926.

In 1930, Mary married Pete Lincoln. Mary and Pete settled on their farm on the river bottom northwest of Pacific Junction, Iowa. Following Pete's death in 1964, Mary moved to Glenwood, Iowa where she worked at Glen Haven Home.

In 1968, Mary married Bill Connell. Mary and Bill enjoyed camping, traveling and dancing. Following Bill's death, Mary continued her gardening, sewing, quilting and traveling with the Heritage Club.

Mary remained in her home in Glenwood until the age of 93, when she moved to Glen Haven Home.

Mary passed away at Glen Haven on January 17, 2010, at the age of 97 years and 4 days. She was preceded in death by her mother; husband, Pete and Bill; brothers, Eamer Leet and Ira Reafling; and sisters, Ilah, Erma, and Goldus Reafling.

Mary is survived by sister-in-law Peggy Leet of Glenwood; brother-in-law Jack Lincoln of Bedford, IA; nieces, Shelley Endicott and husband John of Glenwood and Lee Ross of Des Moines, IA; nephews, Larry Leet and wife Barb of Boulder City, Nevada and Russ Leet and wife Tammy of Las Vegas, Nevada; and many great nieces and nephews.
