Mary Jane Renze

Mary Renze, 62, of Glenwood, passed away at the Hospice with Heart House in Glenwood on August 7, 2013. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 12th at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Glenwood, Iowa with Reverend Howard Fitzgerald officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 11th starting at 4:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Burial will be at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll, Iowa.

Mary Jane Reiling, daughter of Frank and Iola Wiederin Reiling was born on June 6, 1951 in Lake City, Iowa. She attended Carroll Kuemper Catholic School graduating in 1969. On May 4, 1974 she married Art Renze at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll, Iowa. She was blessed with two children, Tony and Alyson. For the past 17 years Mary has worked at the Glenwood State Bank.

Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends, but most of all being "Nana" to Ellie, Abe, and Ginny.

Mary is survived by Art, her husband of 39 years; son, Tony (Ginger) Renze of Lincoln, NE; daughter, Alyson (Josh) Goedken of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Ellie, Abe, and Ginny Renze of Lincoln, NE; mother, Iola Hoogestraat; brother, Larry (Vicki) Reiling; sisters, Sheila O' Tool, Dianne Danner, and Jill (Cory) Johnston, all of Carroll, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her step father, John Hoogestraat; brother-in-law, Marv Danner; and nephew, Kevin O' Tool.

Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
