Myra Beth Courtier

Myra Courtier, 62, of Hastings, IA, passed away November 3, 2015 at the Oakland Manor in Oakland, IA. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Wheeler Grove Cemetery, east of Carson, IA, with Pastor Brody Tubaugh officiating. There is no scheduled visitation. Loess Hills Funeral Home of Carson in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are directed to the family.

Myra Beth Browning, the youngest daughter of Homer and Laura (Rose) Browning, was born on March 27, 1953 in Council Bluffs, IA. After attending various schools including Carson-Macedonia, Myra graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1971. On May 5, 1978 she married Lyle J. Courtier in Modale, IA. The couple made their home in Hastings. They were married for 34 years when Lyle passed away on November 11, 2012.

Myra enjoyed doing puzzles and getting bargains at yard sales and thrift shops in her spare time.

Myra was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle and infant son, Johnny; her parents; stepson, Bruce Courtier; and grandchildren, Jeremy and Crystal Courtier.

Myra is survived by her sisters, Christine (Cliff) Pracht and Marie Browning, both of Carson; step-children, Roy Harmon of New Mexico, Kathy (Robert) of Kearney, MO, Rod ( Sue) Courtier of Hastings, IA, Robin (Debbie) of Cheyenne, WY, Kevin ( Ann) Courtier of Scottsbluff, NE, Randy Courtier of Imogene, IA, Kent Courtier of Wisconsin, and Vicky Allen of Red Oak, IA; aunts and uncle, Sydney Rose, Frank (Dixie) Rose both of Carson, and Lorene Rose of Osceola, IA; many cousins, nieces, nephews and host of friends.
