Nancy Zucca

Nancy June Zucca, one of six children of James Thomas and Mina Jeanne (Stallard) Hight, was born in Bremerton, Washington on December 25, 1951. The family moved to Vallejo, California and Nancy graduated from Hogan High School in 1970. After attending business college, Nancy worked in the nursing home and care industry at the Richmond Hospital in Richmond, California.

On October 27, 1979, Nancy married Phillip J. Zucca in Reno, Nevada. They made their first home in Vallejo, California where Nancy continued to work. Their marriage was blessed by the birth of three daughters, Jennifer, Melissa, and Courtney. Nancy then worked at the First Hospital in Vallejo until 1994 when Phil was transferred to Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska to assume his duties as a civil service electrician. Phil and Nancy purchased their home at 1209 Timber Lane in Glenwood, Iowa. Nancy took a position at the Ehrling Bergquist Base Hospital at Offutt. She later worked for the Westaff employment agency and was assigned to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha. Along with her work, Nancy greatly enjoyed homemaking, reading, politics and animals. She continued to work until disabled by a heart attack in April of 2003, which was followed by a diagnosis of cancer in early May of 2003. Nancy and Phil had been married for 23 years when Nancy died at their home on May 25, 2003. She had attained the age of 51 years and 5 months.

Nancy was preceded in death by her mother Mina Jeanne Hight and her father-in-law Peter Zucca.

Nancy is survived by her husband Phillip Zucca; daughters Jenny Crawley and husband Daniel of Glenwood, Iowa, Melissa Zucca and Courtney Zucca of Glenwood; father James Hight of Sun City, Arizona; mother-in-law Emma Lee Zucca of Glenwood; sister Robin Nelson and husband Dennis of Munster, Indiana; twin sister Judith Hight of Glenwood; brothers Tom Hight and wife "San" of Kelso, Washington, Paul Hight and wife Nancy of Rocklin, California, and Mark Hight and wife Connie of Yuba City, California; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
