Pat (Ranne) Hansen

Alma Marie Hansen, the daughter of Harry Edwin Ranne and Anna Louise (Slaughter) Ranne, was born at Glenwood, Iowa on March 22, 1932. Affectionately known as "Pat", she grew up in Glenwood where she attended Grace United Methodist Church and graduated from high school in 1950. Pat and Douglas Allan Zanders of Malvern, Iowa were married in Lincoln, Nebraska and made their home in Malvern. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Douglas Allan II, Robin Kristine, Pamela Sue, and Jill Dee.

Pat and Marvin Lee Hansen of Omaha, Nebraska were married on July 15, 1977 at the United Methodist Church in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Joining the new family were Marvin's daughters, Jacque Lynn Hansen and Jodi Lynn Hansen. They made their home in Omaha for a few years, and then moved to Janesville, Wisconsin where Pat worked as a Medical Social Worker from 1979 to 1993. Following retirement, Pat and Marvin moved to Glenwood in 1995.

Pat loved to decorate her home for the seasons and Christmas was her favorite time. Among her many enjoyments were attending craft shows, watching sports, playing Canasta, shopping, traveling, and going out to eat. Pat cherished her dog "Muffin", her best friend and loyal companion, but her greatest joy was being with her family, her children and grandchildren.

Pat and Marvin had been married 30 years when Pat passed away at Methodist Hospital in Omaha on January 8, 2008. She had attained the age of 75 years, 9 months and 16 days. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and brother James Cheyney.

Pat is survived by her husband Marvin Hansen of Glenwood, Iowa; children Doug Zanders of Omaha, Robin Simmons and husband William, Pam Horton and husband Steven, Jill Baker and husband James, all of Glenwood, Jacque Hansen and Jodi Hansen, both of Omaha, Nebraska; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister-in-law Jeanette Cheyney of Chehalis, Washington; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.
