Patricia Louise Madison, one of five children of Robert Matthias Boudewyns and Florence Elizabeth (Blackmer) Boudewyns, was born on April 8, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Hoover High School in 1973. She attended Jennie Edmundson School of Nursing in Council Bluffs, Iowa and received her RN degree. She then began her nursing career in hospitals and later in nursing homes.
On November 20, 1976, Patti and Charles "Chuck" Chris Madison, were married in Des Moines and made their home in Council Bluffs. The couple was blessed with two children, Elizabeth Marie and Hans Robert. They lived in several Nebraska communities following Chuck's law enforcement career. Patti was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, just as her two older sisters were previously. This eventually forced Patti to retire as Director of Nursing at the Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City, Nebraska. In December of 2010, the couple moved to Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
Patti enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader when Elizabeth was young and was later active in the Multiple Sclerosis Society and support groups. She enjoyed collecting antique clocks.
Patti passed away at the Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, Nebraska on January 19, 2011, at the age of 55 years, 9 months, and 11 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Toye and Colleen Johnson; brother, Timothy Boudewyns; father-in-law, Hans Madison; sister-in-law, Marie Harris; and step father-in-law, Joe W. Cowan.
