Paul M. Kremkoski

Paul M. Kremkoski, age 53, of Macedonia, Iowa, passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Paul Michael Kremkoski, one of four sons of Alice May (Gleason) Kremkoski and Alvin Joseph Kremkoski, was born on April 18, 1955 in Racine, Wisconsin. He grew up in Albany, Wisconsin and attended Albany High School. Paul joined the United States Army at age 17 but was honorably discharged a few months later. He spent the next few years racing his car and fulfilling his interest in his 1966 Chevelle Malibu.

Paul and Susan (Higgins) Rouse were married on June 2, 1979 in Milo, Warren County, Iowa and Paul became a father to her son, Shane Elam Rouse. Their marriage was blessed with two more children, Aaron Michael and Laci Lynn. They made their home in Milo and Paul worked for Vermeer Manufacturing in Pella, Iowa. He later accepted a job operating heavy equipment for an Omaha, Nebraska road construction company. In 1989 the family moved to the rural Oakland, Iowa area. In addition to spending time with his family, Paul enjoyed playing golf, the Green Bay Packers football, auto racing and was known as a "gear head".

Paul sustained a head injury and was permanently disabled while working construction in 1993. The family moved to Macedonia, Iowa and Paul slowly regained some of his strength but not his depth perception and stable coordination. He was finally ready to try working again and accepted a position at Speedco Truck Lube in Council Bluffs, Iowa where he serviced semi trucks. In 2006, Paul was diagnosed with cancer which eventually forced him to retire.

Paul lost his battle with cancer and passed away on November 24, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, having attained the age of 53 years, 7 months and 6 days. He was preceded in death by his father.

Paul is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sue Kremkoski of Macedonia, IA; children, Shane Rouse and wife Christine of Macedonia, Aaron Kremkoski and fiancA(c) Jynell Miller of Oakland, IA, and Laci Kremkoski of Council Bluffs, IA; five grandsons, Shane Rouse II, Nathan Rouse, Austin Kremkoski, Logan Rouse, A.J. Kremkoski; mother Alice Kremkoski and his brothers, Theodore Kremkoski, Patrick Kremkoski, and John Kremkoski and wife Mary, all of Beloit, WI; other relatives and friends.

A memorial fund has been established.
