Peggy Chambers, 85 of Oakland, IA, passed away at her home on Saturday, May 17, 2025.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in the Carson, IA Cemetery. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson is caring for Peggy and her family.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, family will direct memorials.

Peggy Lou Varnold was born on September 4, 1939 in Cooper, Texas, the daughter of Kenneth and Dessie Mae (Fielding) Varnold.

Peggy and Thomas George Chambers were united in marriage on June 17, 1966 in Macomb, Illinois. They were blessed with five children, Raydon, Naomi, Dessie, Tonya, and Thomas Jr.

Peggy and Tom owned and operated Tom’s Auto Body in Council Bluffs, IA, retiring in 2004, when the business sold.

Peggy enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; and beloved husband Tom in 2016.

Peggy is survived by her children, Raydon (Virginia) Monk of Grand Saline, TX, Naomi (Kenneth) Escritt of Carson, IA, Dessie (Brad) Schroeder of W. Des Moines, IA, Tonya Buckner of Coahoma TX, and Thomas Jr (Amy) Chambers of Clarksville AR; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and many special friends.
