Phillip Dean Queen

Phillip Queen, 56, of Council Bluffs, IA, passed away on January 15, 2015 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Elks Lodge, located at 380 Mckenzie Ave in Council Bluffs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are directed to his family.

Phillip Dean Queen, one of four children of Judith Irene (Eitzen) and Phillip Donald Queen, was born on April 22, 1958 in Hamburg, Iowa. He graduated in 1976 from Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Following school, Phil worked as an electrician and as a construction surveyor.

Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on trucks. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and cheered for any team who played against Nebraska. Phil enjoyed spending time with friends, family, his daughter Melissa, and especially his granddaughter Kiara, who brought much joy to his life.

Phil passed away on January 15, 2015 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, at the age of 56 years, 8 months, and 23 days. He was preceded in death by his dad; and brother Douglas Queen.

Phil is survived by his daughter Melissa Queen; granddaughter Kiara Ann Queen, both of Carter Lake, IA; mother Judith Queen of Council Bluffs; sisters, Robin Scheuermann of Underwood, IA, and Ronda Greiner and her husband Rod of Silver City, IA; nieces and nephews, Erin Ragland, her husband Wylie, and their children, Taiden and Colton, Cara Gunter and her daughter Adeline, Josh, Scott, and Kayla Greiner, Ashleigh Croushorn, her husband Austin, and their children, Lance and Mason, and Josh Queen; and by many friends.
