Richard Allen Johnson

–

Glenwood, Iowa

Richard Allen Johnson, one of four children of Mary Carol (Johnston) Johnson, was born in Omaha, NE on June 27, 1964. He attended schools near his home and graduated from Dominican High School in Omaha. Richard was blessed with three children, Nicholas, Joshua, and Sara.

After having a great day, Richard died quietly on a truck ride with a dear friend on his way to his home in Malvern, IA on July 2, 2006. He had attained the age of 42 years and 5 days. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Bean. He is survived by his mother, Mary Carol Johnson of Omaha; brothers Curtis Lee Johnson of Malvern, David Leon Johnson of Blair, NE; and sister Lanora Kaye Johnson of Glenwood, IA; children, Nicholas, Joshua, and Sara; nephews Anthony and Cody and niece Amanda Rose; several great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends.

Richard had a great love for children. He loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and had many of them throughout his life as pets. He leaves behind his companions, Jake, a black lab who went with him almost everywhere and Chris, his cat who will surely be lonely without him.

Richard did not have the opportunity to prove himself in the business world before suffering the effects of a brain tumor he had since birth. Going through several life threatening experiences gave him a unique perspective on life. He always showed those around him how he loved them and it was their love that gave him a reason for living. He was always there for everyone when they needed him. He had a great love for tinkering, whether it be with cars, fixing up bikes for family or neighborhood children, or building some new project. The hobby he loved the most was fishing and saving a spot for a friend.
