Richard Dean Schroder, 87 of Carson, IA, passed away at his home on October 21, 2020. He was born on December 6, 1932 in Oakland, Iowa, a son of William and Elma (Kindhart) Schroder. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Richard worked as self-employed carpenter until his retirement.

Richard and Nancy Jane Achenbaugh were united in marriage on December 3, 1954.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; two grandsons; sister, Twila Killion; and brothers, Lloyd Schroder and Dwight Schroder.

Richard will be lovingly remembered by his wife Nancy; daughter, Susan Putnam of Oakland, IA; sons, Tom Schroder of Carson and his children, Sage, Satch, and Summer, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Tim (Judy) Schroder and their daughters, Claire and Emma, of Omaha, NE; five great grandchildren; sister Barb Cleaveland; and other relatives and friends.
