Rodney Weight

Rodney Weight, 66, of Glenwood, IA died on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha, NE. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August, 29, 2018 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood with Pastor Bob Milliken officiating. Burial will be in the Thurman Cemetery in Thurman, IA. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Rodney Dale Weight was born on October 26, 1951 in Hamburg, Iowa, the son of Henry Vernon and Wava Jean (Curtis) Weight. Rodney graduated from the Sidney High School and took some college courses. He lived in Glenwood, Iowa and was an employee at the Glenwood Resource Center as a resident treatment worker for many years.

Rodney was a member of the Sidney Church of Christ and reading his Bible brought him much comfort. He was a wiz at math, loved history and sciences; enjoyed watching Star Trek, and was an all-around "Mr. Fix-It".

Rodney passed away on August 24, 2018 at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 66 years, 9 months, and 28 days. He was preceded in death by his father Henry Weight; siblings, Wayne Weight and Monte Pierce; and step father Code Pierce. His mother Wava Pierce recently passed away on August 27, 2018.

Rodney is survived by his wife Mary of Glenwood; children, Jason (Cristy) of Chaska, MN and their daughter Kaitlynn, Jamie (Stuart) McMillan of Glenwood and their children, Maddison, Brady, and Blakely, and Jeremy (Alyse) of Plattsmouth, NE, due this year with their son Parker Thomas; sister Brenda (Dennis) Almquist of Sidney; sister-in-law Susan Weight; aunts, Donna Ball of Glenwood and Colleen Pierce of Malvern, IA; nieces, nephews other relatives; and many, many friends.
