Roger Stephens

Gerald Roger Stephens, son of Dean Leo Stephens and Betty LuJean (Spry) Stephens, was born December 16, 1964 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. He grew up in Macedonia, Iowa and attended Carson-Macedonia High School. Following school, Roger joined the Army Reserves based in Red Oak, Iowa.

Roger and Traci Lyn Peterson were united in marriage on July 2, 2001 in Woodbine, Iowa. They made their home in Council Bluffs and Roger earned a grade three engineering license. At the time of his death, Roger was a maintenance worker at Physicians Mutual Insurance Company in Omaha, Nebraska. His enjoyments included Hawkeye sports and traveling.

Roger died suddenly at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs on May 27, 2006. He had attained the age of 41 years, 5 months, and 11 days. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Stephens on December 17, 1995.

Roger is survived by his wife Traci Stephens of Council Bluffs and his son to be born in August; father Dean Stephens and fiancA(c)e Patty Galbraith of Macedonia; brothers James Stephens of Council Bluffs and Daniel Stephens of Macedonia; sisters Shirley Stephens of Carson and Paula Dingman and husband John of Council Bluffs; other relatives and friends.
