Ronald John Stillinger

Ron Stillinger, 59, of Carson, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016 at the CHI Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs. Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Carson Community Center with Pastor Brody Tubaugh officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be at the Carson Cemetery.

Ronald John Stillinger, the son of Clyde and Ethelda (Stalder) Stillinger, was born on August 21, 1956 in Corning, Iowa where he was raised and lived until he entered the United States Navy in 1975. For the next six years he was stationed in San Francisco, California and had the opportunity to travel the world while serving his country. In 1982, he was honorably discharged and moved to Carson, Iowa. Ron was employed with the City of Carson for almost 30 years.

Ron enjoyed everything and anything outdoors, including hunting, fishing and riding his bike. The only thing he loved more was his family who were his pride and joy. Ron loved spending time with his grandkids; whether it was watching them play sports, teaching them to safely shoot a gun, or just to hang out. He also enjoyed watching his son's band play.

Ron entered into eternal rest at the CHI Health Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa on June 17, 2016, at the age of 59 years, 9 months, and 27 days. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Daniel Parks; and sister Janet Squire.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Jennifer Reicks, her husband Nicholas, and their children, Allison and Ethan, Laura Schuster, her husband Scott, and their children, Sydnie, Scott, Gage, Cayla and great grandchild Augustus, Monica Makinde, her husband Seun, and their children, Danika and Ayo, Bobby Parks, and Aaron Koenig; sister Jane Tauchen and her husband Richard; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
