Rory Jack

Rory Andrew Jack, 68 of Council Bluffs, IA, passed away at CHI Health Bergen Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE on Friday, July 11, 2025. A celebration of life gathering will be held at the UCC Fellowship Hall in Glenwood (109 N. Walnut St.) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Rory and his family.

Rory was born on March 7, 1957 in Omaha, the son of Harold Eugene and Janis Marie (Andrews) Jack. He grew up in Malvern and was a member of the Malvern class of 1975. Rory was employed as a restaurant cook.

Rory loved dogs and enjoyed fishing, sports, coin collecting and metal detecting. He was pretty good at singing and loved to tell tales and share stories. Rory also enjoyed a good game of poker, especially Texas hold-em. He was an avid Hawkeye fan and was fun to be around and had a contagious laugh.

Rory was preceded in death by his father Harold; and brothers, Brent and Chris Jack.

Rory is survived by his children, Melissa Dixon (Michael) of Glenwood, Andrew Jack (Abigail) of Atlantic, IA, Jonathon Jack of Council Bluffs, IA ,and Joe Jack (Michelle) of Savage, MN; 4 grandchildren; and one great grandchild on the way; mother Janis Jack of Glenwood; sisters, Lorrie Dame (William) of Columbia, CT, Lisa Pollina of Columbus, OH, and Amy Clark (Kim) of Glenwood; other relatives and many special friends.
