Russell Sederburg

Russell Sederburg, 79, of Plattsmouth, NE passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Mamre Cemetery, east of Stanton, IA. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Russell and his family.

OBITUARY
Russell William Sederburg died Friday, April 5, 2024 at Josie Harper Hospice House, Omaha, NE at age 79 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Russell was born to Hilmer and Iola Sederburg on April 16, 1944 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He grew up on a small farm north of Stanton, Iowa and graduated from Stanton High School in 1962. He worked at the Thomas Murphy calendar factory in Red Oak for a few years, then spent most of his working life employed by Allied Chemical Company in Plattsmouth, NE. He also farmed his parent’s land as well as rental acres during his time at Allied.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Kevin, sister Illene Grutsch, and daughter Robyn Fetterolf.

Russell is survived by his sons, Eric Sederburg of Federal Heights, CO, and Ben Sederburg of Omaha, NE; his daughter, Pam Vimmerstedt of Gypsum, CO; granddaughter Madelyn Fetterolf of Gypsum, CO; grandson Eric Sederburg of Federal Heights, CO; sisters, Wanda Anderson, Phyllis Damgaard, Kay Tafolla, Kathy Linquist, and Joy Sobbing; brothers, Kelvin Sederburg and David Sederburg.
