Ruth Pauline Wilson

Ruth Pauline (Grandma) Wilson, 94, of Glenwood, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Ruth Pauline Bartles, one of seven children of Frederick Clyde and Mamie May (Bachler) Bartles, was born on January 13, 1920 in Fremont County, IA. She grew up in Thurman and Pacific Junction. She attended school at Thurman Consolidated Schools and Pacific Junction School. On July 15, 1937 Ruth married William Daniel Wilson at Glenwood. Their marriage was blessed with three sons, William Paul, Bruce Allen and Bennett Clay. Pauline worked at Vi's CafA(c) in Glenwood for 13 years and enjoyed being a homemaker, quilting, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pauline and Bill were married for 52 years when Bill passed away on September 6, 1989.
Pauline is survived by her son, Bruce and Jackie Wilson, of Glenwood; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Wilson of Papillion,NE; grandchildren, Ben Wilson of Sherman,TX, Amy Harr of Erie,Colorado, Diana Carberry of Papillion, NE, Therese Wade of Cedar Hill, TX, Maria Wilson of Hemet, CA, Tom Knutson of Omaha, NE, and Michelle Schneppl of Omaha, NE; 21 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Rose Bartles of Glenwood; several cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of special friends.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; sons, Bennett and Paul; granddaughter, Kristy Wilson Stoppel; grandsons, Tony Wilson and Todd Knutson; brothers, L.V. (Pete), Gerald (Sam), Harold, and Joy Bartles; sisters, Armedia McClure and Rowena Hammers.
