Sally Ann Thompson

Sally Ann Thompson, one of four children of William Thomas Laxson and Gladys Alma (Luxton) Laxson, was born on December 9, 1930 in Ozona, Texas. She grew up and graduated from high school in Ozona in 1947.
Sally married Louis Carroll Stinnett. Two children were born to this marriage, Louis Carroll and Jean Ann. They divorced and later Sally married Calton Alfred Thompson at Carlsbad, New Mexico. Three children were born to this marriage, Tommy, Kerry and Bill.
Sally and Calton owned and operated a chicken farm in Missouri for a time, before returning to Texas where they owned and operated a Bar-B-Que restaurant in Sonora, Texas. Sally retired in 1997 when the business was sold, moving first to Washburn, Missouri and then to Omaha, Nebraska. Due to declining health, Sally moved to Hastings, Iowa to live with her son Tommy.
Sally passed away at her home on November 22, 2007 having attained the age of 76 years, 11 months and 13 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Louis Stinnett; sister Billye Laphan and brother Glen Laxson.
Locally, Sally is survived by her son Tommy Thompson of Hastings, Iowa; her other children, Jean, Kerry and Bill; brother Tommy Laxson of Texas; other relatives and friends.
