Sandra L. Doyle

Sandra L. Doyle, 68, of Hastings, Iowa passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Hospice with Heart House in Glenwood. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary in Glenwood with Reverend Dan Siepker, celebrant. Burial will be in the Malvern Cemetery in Malvern, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern.

Sandra Louise Doyle, the oldest of 10 children of Rita Claire (Timmins) and William Carl Beutel, was born on February 21, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Omaha and graduated from North High School with the Class of 1964. Sandy worked many years as an office assistant with her last employment of ten years at Paxton & Vierling Steel Company in Carter Lake, Iowa until 2003.

Sandra and Michael Francis Doyle were united in marriage on August 24, 1964 in Pocatello, Idaho. In 1971, they moved to live near Hastings, Iowa. Their marriage was blessed with three children, JoAnne, James, and Kathleen.

Sandy was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Glenwood, Iowa. She was an excellent cook and a great supporter of her children and grandchildren's activities. In her free time, Sandy enjoyed crocheting, taking walks, listening to music, dancing, watching movies and most of all spend time with her family and friends. Sandy was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother, sister, and a good friend to all. Her family and grandkids were her pride and joy.

In 2005, Sandy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and through the years following, her husband Mike, her family, her friends and her hospice family were tremendous support.

Sandy entered Hospice with Heart Home in Glenwood, Iowa on July 6, 2012. She passed away there on March 30, 2014 at the age of 68 years, 1 month, and 9 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister Michaela Beutel; and sister Kathy Herrley.

Sandy is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Mike Doyle of Hastings; children, Joni Ryan and husband Pat of Knoxville, IA, Jim Doyle and wife Melonie of Hastings, IA and Katie Mauer and husband Tony of Council Bluffs, IA; seven wonderful grandchildren, Jake Doyle, Jason Ryan, Erik Ryan, Jessie Doyle, Kelsey Ryan, Addison Mauer, and Delaney Mauer; siblings, Jim Beutel and wife Barb, Linda Roberts and husband Randy, Margie VanVoltenberg and husband Mike, Carl Beutel and wife Terri, Amy Jarrell and husband David, Bob Beutel and wife Julie, and Dan Beutel, all of Omaha; brother-in-law Pat Herrley of Omaha; sister-in-law Bonnie Woodard and husband Jerry of Omaha; other relatives; and many, many friends.
