Stephen Michael Green

Stephen Michael Green, one of eight children of May (Hickey) and Ronald Green, was born on January 5, 1951 in Omaha, Nebraska. He grew up in Omaha and graduated from Bryan High School in 1969. Following school, Stephen enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. After his service, he worked for over 20 years as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Omaha and received a star to the city for his service.

Stephen and Susan Marie Duff were married on January 5, 2005 in Sidney, Iowa and made their home in Carson, Iowa.

Stephen enjoyed camping, fishing, and tinkering with cars. He loved his cat "Ty" and his dog, an Iris setter/chow mix, fondly named, "Miss ChAC/teau". Stephen was an avid Nebraska fan, loved to host get-togethers with friends in his man cave in the garage, nicknamed the "Rendezvous Room", and always kept a drawer full of candy. He enjoyed life to the fullest.

Stephen and Sue were married 7 years when Stephen passed away on November 28, 2012 at the Oakland Manor in Oakland, Iowa, at the age of 61 years, 10 months, and 23 days. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Stephen is survived by his wife Sue Green of Carson; sons, Robert Green and wife Angela of Omaha, and Michael Green of La Vista, NE; stepsons, James Nightingale of Carson, and Steven Nightingale of Omaha; grandchildren, Tristan and Tucker; a granddaughter Maleiyah (who's on the way), Gabriel Jones, and Faith Nightingale; brothers, Melvin Green and wife Mary Kay of Springfield, NE, and Mark Green and wife Lonnie of Omaha; sisters, Susan Johnson of Bellevue, NE, Sheryl Newman and husband George of Joplin, MO, Carolyn Green of Omaha, Cindy Austin and significant other Chuck McBreen, both of Bellevue, and Rhonda Norman of Papillion; many nephews; one niece; and a host of friends.

A memorial fund has been established.
