Vina O. Lyman

Vina Olive Lyman was born on August 20, 1915 in Oakland, Iowa. She grew up in Oakland where she graduated from Oakland High School. Vina and Kenneth Lyman were united in marriage on January 7, 1938 and Vina enjoyed being a homemaker and farm wife. They had been married 40 years when Kenneth passed away on December 18, 1979. Vina passed away on May 16, 2011 at the Oakland Manor in Oakland at the age of 95 years, 8 months, and 26 days.

Vina was preceded in death by her parents, Lorin and May McKenzie (Lees) Palmer, husband Kenneth Lyman; brothers, Calvin and Melvin Palmer, sister Evelyn Dilly, and granddaughter Michelle Lyman.

Vina is survived by sons, Dennis Lyman and wife Nancy of Illinois; Ronnie Lyman and wife Carol of Kansas; brother Delbert Palmer and wife Cleda Carson, Iowa; sister-in-law Lucille Palmer of Oakland, Iowa; ten grandchildren: seventeen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
