Wilma was born May 17, 1917 in Le Roy, Kansas to Charles Edward and Dora Ellen (Miller) Parcell. As a small child, she lived in Arkansas and when her father died suddenly; her mother moved her family to Henderson, Iowa where her sister lived. She later moved to California and after living there for few years, returned with her family to Henderson where she attended school.
Wilma was living in Henderson when she met and married her husband, Herman Hadley Knight. She lived in Red Oak until the death of her husband in 1968. After Herman's death, she traveled and later moved to Texas where she lived for several years. During that time, she was employed at H.E.B. Hospital. She moved to Hastings, Iowa and later to Malvern where she was living when her health began to fail. She then moved to Hastings to live with her sister Nadine until moving to the Manor of Malvern where she resided until her death.
Wilma thoroughly enjoyed life and was a happy, caring person who never met a stranger. She had lots of friends during her lifetime. Although she and her husband had no children of their own, she loved and cared for her nieces and nephews as she would have her own. Wilma had lots of hobbies during her life including fishing, cooking, baking, country music, traveling, baseball, crocheting and playing cards. She also loved to get together with family and friends. Wilma will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
